panomorph technology enables NASA/JPL space flight
Immervision panomorph technology will capture the launch and flight of the HiCIBaS balloon system through the stratosphere.
An international space consortium including NASA/JPL, ABB, SETI, the Canadian Space Agency and others have developed HiCIBaS (High Contrast Imaging Balloon System), a balloon borne telescope whose main goal is to demonstrate the usability of high contrast imaging equipment on board a stratospheric balloon flight. The balloon system launch and flight will be recorded in super wide-angle, including 220 and 360 degree views, using Immervision Enables devices equipped with panomorph lens technology. The recorded images will be used for documentary and scientific purposes and will allow the HiCIBaS team to analyze their flight results in full context.
The launch and flight window will be open from August 16 to August 25, 2018.
