MONTREAL, Canada: ImmerVision, the inventor of the 360-degree panomorph lens and worldwide expert in immersive optical technology, announced today that QNAP’s VioStor Pro and L-Series NVRs have been certified with ImmerVision Enables, today’s most open and flexible 360-degree viewing standard that is driving next-generation 360-degree solutions.

“We are excited to offer panomorph functionality to help surveillance system administrators achieve complete situational awareness,” says Ivan Hsu, Product Marketing Director from QNAP Systems. “Not only can administrators fluidly navigate through live 360-degree panomorph video, but they can also switch to playback from the same window, compare angles of the same footage side-by-side, all without ever losing the full hemispherical view.”

Designed exclusively for security applications, the VioStor NVRs feature server-grade video storage with up to 48TB, and embedded VMS software with support for up to 64 IP cameras, delivering remarkable local display performance in a stand-alone network appliance. With this ImmerVision Enables certification, viewing functionality has been enhanced, offering VioStor NVR customers intuitive navigation directly within undistorted 360-degree live panomorph video.

Administrators can also remotely connect back to the VioStor NVRs, review recorded video spanning 360×180 degrees, and digitally zoom into a scene to make more informed decisions. Hardware flexibility is also offered through a greater number of VioStor NVR-compatible panomorph cameras.

“This certification is a reflection of QNAP’s leadership and keen understanding of growing market demands for adapted 360-degree functionalities,” said Alessandro Gasparini, Chief Commercial Officer at ImmerVision. “Having panomorph image processing built-in their VioStor NVRs enables their customers to select from a wide range of compatible panomorph cameras from global manufacturers, and expand video surveillance without blind spots.”
