Montreal (Canada): ImmerVision, inventor of the 360° panomorph lens and worldwide expert in immersive optical technology, announces that Toshiba Teli’s Kyklops video analytics software solution has been certified ImmerVision Enables. Kyklops is the first solution that can automatically track up to four persons utilizing the 360-degree view captured by a camera equipped with a panomorph lens.
“Toshiba Teli video analytics expertise combined with open immersive imaging technology from ImmerVision has made it easier for their customers to increase video coverage and heighten situational awareness,” said Alessandro Gasparini, SVP, Sales & Marketing and CCO, ImmerVision.
Toshiba Teli’s Kyklops software has practical uses in public transit, retail and other applications involving groups of people. Additional functionality includes analysis of crowd size and traffic flow. ImmerVision Enables functionality provides the ability to interpret the panoramic image delivered by cameras equipped with panomorph lenses. This gives users a bird’s-eye view of an entire area, digital pan, tilt and zoom in every panomorph view, and various view perspectives.
“ImmerVision’s technology expands the capabilities of Kyklops to 360°, providing even more benefits to the user,” said Hideyuki Shimura, Chief Specialist, and Kazuyoshi Matsuno, Group Manager from Toshiba Teli. “Their continuing development of this innovative platform provides us with advanced technology we are pleased to integrate into our offerings.”
